From personal experience, it keeps current variable values and becomes configless (no locked cvars, no map specific cvars, etc.).

This may really be a left-over from my RtCW config, but I must say the boxes thing on tc_base does exist. I'm not THAT crazy, but I'll check next time I pub on it. Changing that variable value DID change the boxes :shock: (and r_picmip 3 and r_picmip2 1 had the same effect as both on 3. just happens...

Actually... I did notice a difference using r_picmip2 with values such as 1 and 3.

Some random textures on boxes (specially tc_base) had the r_picmip 3 while everything else in the world had r_picmip 1 aspect. When I changed it to 1 also, it kind of fixed.

Totally borked :?

sounds like punkbuster screenshots to me. Nope, I haven't taken any screenshots, just keep getting spikes. I'll tell you if it keeps happening tomorrow, but it was pretty bad the tonight. Hope it was just a fluke. PunkBuster Screenshots is a server-side configuration. It takes automatic screenshots...

This might be due to Rain's recent fix on autoexec_soldier.cfg being executed when going spec. Or not. :P

It is compatible, but some cheats that the bugfixes can catch won't be caught in 3.0.1. This is not because of the database, but the improvements in the code itself.
