Like I said before, it's my experience that competitive community in general dislikes such things as fog. Removing textures might be a bit extreme, but you get the picture.

afaik, fog is there so your computer doesn't have to render all the distance details and textures The fog is there to fade away the "grey wall" that does the thing you described. See: http://koti.mbnet.fi/ote/kuvat/eisumu.jpg Yes a fair chunk of cheaters appear happy to claim they do so j...

Now you missed my point again. Variety is always good, but removing parts of the game that are not essential for the gameplay does not remove variety. Saying that "this game is what it is, don't change it, go play some other game" is like saying "crimes happen, it's part of our societ...

Since there's always some people who are too happy to aviod noticing a metaphor, I'm not arguing cfg=cheating, simply pointing out those arguments dont work. Agreed. However I think it lacks one thing, and that is that cheating is only fun as long as you're the only one with the hacks. In other wor...

Just to spawn some conversation, here's another opinion: I hate fog. Why should we have it? What does it add to the gameplay? It's only an effect to make the game look "nice" or "realistic". Howevery neither of those two belong to a competitive game like ET. Games are made for th...

b_pronedelay (default 0, disabled) - millseconds to freeze player on prone transitions. A value of 600 defeats the "bugprone" script entirely. This one is interesting, since the whole script is a joke. It was originally a speed jump script that instead of jumping goes prone, and therefore...

No offense, DSky is actually the only clan I think kicks ass, based on demos I've downloaded, I think you guys are great and the FIN vs GER goldrush match is a classic IMO. That said, you obviously don't realize how pompous you sounded there. :? You're prolly right, I might sound pompous and I apol...

The fact that you picked that line out to argue with speaks volumes. What does your registry hide?

Especially on radar when every team nowadays just sets up a rotator defense on the west parts. The traditional west-part-defence is old fashioned o_O PotFarmer, competitive players might be a minority in amount, but it's them (us) that keep the game going. Most of the public servers are brought by ...

When talking about changes in ET people are obviously missing the point. ET is not perfect, and it can never be, however trying to get closer to perfect is something worth a try. But you also need to remember that turning the game into a RtCW clone is degeneration if you don't think it through. The ...

The only thing that made us luckily win the GGL pre-season was the continueing abuse of the prone exploit, which we used in order to even out our hardly existing aim. I'm deeply sorry for all the trouble and I promise to stop proning as soon as someone kindly tells me the command to unbind prone fro...

Here's the deal: There are people who learn fast and then there are people who don't learn that fast. Sometimes the people who don't learn that fast start to envy the fast learners and start mocking them. In online games popular mocking words are "noob", "noob" and "noob&quo...
