A lot of the servers I frequent updated, and from then, when I connect, ETPro forces my rate setting to 7000. If I change it back down, it forces is back up again. This sounds like the administrators of the servers are using sv_cvar to force rate to a certain range. ET Pro itself has no rate limits...

Yes, but first it crashes. And, if you have the core dump limit set high enough, it will dump a very large core when it crashes.

This is a bug in punkbuster, as far as I can make out. It's either that or ATI's drivers, anyway.

Uhm.. This is an option that's disabled by default. Don't play on servers with it set to never give back charge if you don't like them.
(The option allows the admin to choose between always giving charge, only giving charge when killed by an enemy, and never giving charge.)

You definitely should not be expecting even 1 crash per day, the server tends to stay up a while, even if it starts acting funny after it's been up that long.
Is there anything in the log before that when it crashes, or just chats/death/objective messages? (sadly, the stack trace is useless)

This has been fixed in one of the testbugfix releases.. Unfortunately, there isn't really a workaround, so you'll have to wait for servers to upgrade, or join servers with cheat kicking disabled, and direct them here.. Very sorry about this.
