Well I have cg_drawgun 0 so animations doesnt really concern me.. And I'd assume most competition players have turned the gun off as well... Sorry if this is a newb request / question.. but i guess it cant hurt too much.. :) I tried search and I was unable to find any results.. so... Does ET have an inbuilt firedelay on smg's?, i seem to recall someone mentioning that there was a 100ms delay between you pushing the trigger and the bullet...
