I think that if you use a linux box with a 2.6 SMP kernel, the kernel will be in charge of dividing the CPU cycles. At least that's how I figure it after heaving read a bit on how linux does the SMP thing. But to assign one process to one cpu, I don't know if that's possible. Linux kernel will do i...

a good rule of thumb is to budget ~1mb per client (not including the memory needed for the map). this applies to etmain as well as ettv. tv_83 doesnt require memory. and i cant imagine any situation where ettv would need 500mb. if that happened it indicates either hunkmegs was set wrong or theres a...

true, unless its a NAT route Please don't tell me you're NATing your loopback address :) Don't be confused between this (RFC 1918, http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1918.html ): The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) has reserved the following three blocks of the IP address space for private inte...

hum, maybe i do not understand you, but in my configuration right now I have a master on a specific IP (.137), the first slave binded on the localhost (127.0.0.1), and the second slave on another public IP (.136). Ok, .136 and .137 are on the same BSD server, but the match server (master one) can b...

Btw, creation of delay on .tv_83 file make me thing about some possible cheat. I mean if .dm_83 works as well as those file, like streameable; May a player during a match use NFS to make his demo (/record) readeable in live from an other computer, with no delay + freecam. That could be possible, bu...

tv watchers listing request
Yo, Will there be a way to list the spectators connected to an ET TV server when you're on it ? We can get it via rcon when requesting it from the server ( http://et.pourix.net/fr/tools/server/list ), so we can combine it with a bot on the server, able to answer each of these requests and tell who i...

demo files validation
Yo, I'd like to validate .dm_83 files. I am building a demo database on the web, and need to be sure uploaded files won't be used as a sharing system for any kind of files. file(1) blah.dm_83 returns nothing useful (at least on FreeBSD), and the header of the file is always different. So I think the...
