Re: Finding ourself (Official request by esl.eu/eu/et)

Allowing some clients to turn off screenshakes changes the game for everyone. I think this is a role inversion. If the cvars are implemented and allowed in leagues' config, most players will have screenshakes off. And as I already stated above, the only reason for making b_screenShakes a client cva...

Actually, the only reason for having b_screenShakes as a client-side cvar is because many players see it as an advantage over no screen shakes in the sense of b_screenShakes 0.5 equating to half the shakes amplitudes. Personally, I don't think that would be required if we had b_damageMarkers. It onl...

The object of etpro is to fix bugs (duh), add clearly beneficial improvements (e.g. b_realhead), options for tweaking balance (class/weapon/spam customization) and make necessary gameplay changes (e.g. the 10-shot Garand). Your proposals are not necessary in order to make W:ET playable competitivel...

...all dumb ideas for etpro anyway, IMO... How exactly do you quantify an idea as being dumb? The requested cvars have been long thought of, and implemented in a proof-of-concept server for testing with an overall positive response. Leagues and tourneys are interested in their implementations, at l...

The current implementation of antilag is fine by me. Maybe it's some confusion about antiwarp which can cause lower pingers to have increased pings when they endure packetloss. This in turn can give the wrong impression that ETPro "antilag" disadvantages lower pingers with respect to highe...

I'll hate to impose, but I don't believe that one person has the right to choose what's best for everyone. The above arguments, are pretty much subjective at most and how much they may be right or wrong doesn't add to it. That said, quite a few people share the comon feeling that damage markers and ...

There is nothing like what you describe as "movement antilag" in ET or ETPro, or any other Q3 engine game that I am aware of. I know, because I first mentioned it here. I've worked on some code and tried to figure out which methods were the best for internet play and that's how I came up ...

Bringing up bogus strawmen doesn't help your argument. Running into other players causes prediction errors too... perhaps we should disable antilag because of that :? You do have a very -ve feedback on everything I say? I refered to movement antilag, never said anything about aiming antilag. Moveme...

AFAIK the most glaring problems have been fixed. If this isn't the case, please remind me of where it goes wrong. Excuse me, but isn't a bug that gives zero turn-spread "glaring"? I've already setup an experiment anyone can perform over @ xfire: -set your mouse @ default USB 125hz -load a...

It sound like madscientist wants a different game, where everyone is super accurate under all conditions. To him, that is somehow the peak of skill I guess. May I ask what's wrong with that notion? I'm not even remotely trying to change ET's fate and we all know its player base will keep on diminis...

Feature Request: b_demo_snapAdjust

Currently, high pingers cannot watch their own demos because these are recorded from the server's perspective --ping zero. From my understanding, client demos are interpolated from the recorded snaps. Wouldn't there be a way to read the current player position/viewangles "ahead" of these s...
