It can be made to be like rate, but antiwarp should take out most of the warping..

FreeBSD doesn't support IP_RECVERR.. There is no workaround at this time, but we can make it ignore the failure probably.

Well, you just have to keep in mind that this is a game, a way for people to have fun. If the majority of people have more fun with hitsounds, then tough noodles. It is an option, so you can get together a group of friends who like playing without hitsounds, and force it to off :)

Just to be clear, my understanding on the hitsounds is that it was *already* possible to tell when you're making contact by looking for tracers (if they're there, you aren't hitting). But not everyone knew/knows about that.

200 is a stat changing, so it's nothing to worry about.
Also, you can try with b_optimizePrediction 0 - if it's always slow with optimized prediction off, then maybe the optimizePrediction code could be improved (and your computer is very slow ;) )
Otherwise, your problem lies elsewhere.

b9 fixed the lag problems, unless your network is dropping packets altogether.
EDIT: Do note that you should run b9 on both the master and the slave for the fixes to be noticable..
