I can't understand how you think mp40 and thompson sound the same in RtCW? They sound completley different, i would have said they sounded too similar in ET, well there you go....Anyway not to go off on a tangent it would be cool if the RtCW sounds were an available alternative in ET. :)

As was also pointed it out it's not necessarily an overall lower fps, but rather drops/lags occuring regularly.

Adam, as has been said before, since when is ET realistic? The point in question is the fact that RtCW weapon sounds were much, much cooler, it sounded like you were firing a real weapon, whereas it sounds like your are firing a toy gun in ET.

I agree to the soundpack thing, i don't want a completley new soundpack just certain new sounds, for example RtCW sounds for the mp40/thompson, the sound when you fall and the grenades etc. The more different sounds you add the easier it is to exploit it, even unintenionally...keep it simple :)

I was told that com_zonemegs and com_soundmegs can't go higher than 32, as in they can be set higher but will still max out at 32, true or not? Also why will allocating less com_hunkmegs fix my problem, surely it would be vice versa? :? For the record i have sound/zone megs on 32 and hunkmegs on 352.

I have not noticed an overall decrease in FPS like some others say, but i have noticet some rather annoying lags, every 10-15 seconds i get a tiny little lag which is so frustrating, especially when in a duel as it's so hard to track someone after that happened. I can provide demos however when i wa...

I remember having this happen once or twice in ET, and even in RtCW, a reinstall of the game worked for me (after having backed up files such as configs/maps etc.), although i'm sure there is a smarter, less time consuming solution ;).

I agree with almost everything Hypnotoad suggests, particularly the RtCW sounds being an available alternative and also the "Movement lag", despite the latter maybe taking some time to get used to, i think it would be worth it if it could be "fixed".
