one thing people probably dont realize is that with wolfrof, the smg spread is doubled. where spread is basically non existent with normal rof, with wolfrof you have to fire in bursts (as in rtcw also). yep good point, although as others have mentioned it is an issue at mid to short range where it ...

Re: +$0.02

r_detailTextures is still annoying me. I'm really really loath to restrict something that's that native a setting (available in menu, comes default depending on what 'low/med/high' setting you have) yep I noticed this the other day when I joined one of our serves with a fresh install. I removed it ...

good work, I'll have a look at it shortly but I take it the usual spawn point binds will still work? If you're worried about players forgetting the tank then I'd suggest setting the garage/cp autospawn to come in after the tank has blown the main gate to the fuel dump. This will keep the allies who ...

Balancing wolfrof

We've ben running a public server with wolfrof on and the reaction from most players has been fairly positive. As such, it is something that we will consider for our next season, should our community support it. While wolfrof immediately favours the leet smg players and on the surface would seem to ...

I get this a lot, but I tend to use the mousewheel to switch between pistol & smg :p I use M3 for reload and sometimes when I'm in a hurry I'll hit reload then accidentally flick to pistol, in which case I get the smg reload animation & sounds then immediately after change to pistol, but whe...

We limit soldiers and riflegrenades in matches but I can't see that we'd ever need to limit medics or field-ops. If a team wants to run heavy on either there is generally a penaly to pay in the form of lack of ammor or revives - it's been that way since wolf and the balance is only upset in ET with ...

I'd have thought all players would assume their enemy is always ready to shoot back, no matter what their pose or position is. Sure you get lucky sometimes and catch them with their pants down, packing each other up and whatnot, but it's not something you rely on to win fights. The more distractions...

In the last couple of months it's been happening with far greater frequency to players on our 3.1.9 servers, so I wouldn't blame etpro. My guess is that it will mysteriously go away after an unnoticed pb update, as did the unexplained crashing that seemd to plague a lot of people about 6 months or s...

I'd really like the option to limit other classes. For example excessive coverts can be a problem on the few satchel objective maps like Reactor - not so much in clan matches, but it would be great to limt them to 3 on our public SW servers that all the clanners play on. And our et_headshot server w...

ta, I found an old post of scds reyalp when he explains timenudge in more detail, though it's nice to see it stated in one sentence :)

May we present the new release of our latest whine, the '05 vintage of a cheeky little number we call 'Shrug'. Filled with a fruity bouquet, earthy undertones and a hint of licorice, it can be enjoyed now with a plate of soft cheese, but will greatly reward cellaring in a prone position.

Okey dokey, here's my revised list of recommended cvar restrictions, take 27 ;) These include restrictions on r_subdivisions and r_lodcurverror 2.56 & etpro 3.1.0 / 3.1.9 command "sv_cvar rate IN 3500 25000" command "sv_cvar snaps IN 1 20" command "sv_cvar cg_bobup IN -0...

Here's my reasoning for limiting r_lodcurverror. Please correct me if I've said anything that is incorrect. What it does: r_lodcurverror determines the distance (in units?) at which curved objects become broken down, ie a semi-circular archway becomes increasing angular until it is represented by th...

re lodcurveerror, you need to go under 20 for it to be of any real benfit. it's easy to test as it dosen't require a vid restart. subdivisons set to 0 or over 64 allows players to lean though a wall and see into axis spawn on Frostbite, which is one of the most popular maps in our ladder. the r_ati_...
