Lazy clients are no reason to delay server updates. The more servers that update, the more likely clients will be to get their shit sorted. It's not even a big deal: have a renamed 2.60b executable that lives alongside your 2.60 version, with a shortcut to each. This ain't rocket surgery. The probl...

I'm chasing another side topic as I am wont to do, but if that direct input were to be implemented in the same way as Q3, you don't want it. Well, unless you prefer playing at a decided disadvantage due to input lag.

Need b_fixedphysics 1 set to default :bunnyd: WTFNOES b_fixedphysics teh ubersux. ET is nearly dead. This will most certainly kill it. Pfft. Go jump down gamma ramps all night with your pmove_fixed 1 and your b_fixedphysics 0 and your com_maxfps 333. The rest of us like to play normal W:ET without ...

I run a server that does double-duty for pub and comp. Since league configs have PB stuff in their match.config, I was putting our pub-specific PB stuff in our pub.config as well. This caused bad sound stutter for a couple seconds after "Fight!" because we have a lot more PB stuff than lea...

Most if not all Logitech keyboards suck. While you'll almost never use more than 5 keys when gaming (obviously), and usually no more than 3, there are several 3-key combos that many (most?) modern keyboards can't do. To my knowledge, this includes all Logitech keyboards. As for polling rate, I serio...

. . . how do you explain that cvars such as b_wolfRof and b_distanceFalloff exist? I personally believe Bani had a momentary lapse of reason, or was perhaps temporarily insane. ;) Also, I can't recall reading any notice about ETPro only fixing bugs. That's the second time in this thread you've misr...

We need them so we could test them first, then decide should they be implemented. The object of etpro is to fix bugs (duh), add clearly beneficial improvements (e.g. b_realhead), options for tweaking balance (class/weapon/spam customization) and make necessary gameplay changes (e.g. the 10-shot Gar...

ETPro did implement cvars such as b_wolfRof and b_damageFalloff in the past for testing and there should be no reason to exclude the proposed ones. The risk of community fragmentation is one reason. Luckily that didn't happen with the "wolf" stuff (all dumb ideas for etpro anyway, IMO). W...

This would be better suited to lua. ETPro is a competition mod first and foremost. Knowing when/if a ref is logged in is a desirable thing in competition.

Talk to madscientist, AFAIK he did it with lua.

If it doesn't have a high rollover count, and I suspect it does not, it's just another shiny piece of bling that's not particularly well-suited to gaming.

Having the presence of mind to check the clock whilst in a high intensity fight. . . . . . . is part of what separates the men from the boys. well.. funny that comes from a guy suggestion stuff like: Another great idea. Since I can get that info either via pb_cvarval, or (in the case of querying be...
