This is also very true for ETPro.
And needs to be dealt with.

are you talking about when you have a radeon and the msn box pops up. I have never had that happen but i would like to end hackers all over the multiplayer world. if you could show me some screenshots and maybe give me some more information i could help better.

I hear this often from players who have a Radeon card.
The newest one. And use Catalyst drivers.
I have no screenshots, I do not have a Radeon.

In my own clan this is true for 3 people.
I will ask them for screenshots.
Quake 3 shows the same behaviour.

I believe a lot of people know about this and keep it quiet.
In there own benefit.
But this can be exploited as a cheat.

The MSN message box stating a new user has logged on, or if the person sends a message appears bottom right for a few seconds indicating the activity. Then during that time all walls are transparent. A clanmember of mine caught himself taking advantage of the situation to shot someone coming around the corner, and then realising that is not a fair thing to do. But how many people are that honest... :(

this works with logitech driver and radeon cards too ...

with old logitech mouseware every button u press on mouse can bind as a keyboard button ... and then e.g. u press mouse5 button, the system tray says: STRG pressed ...
and during this message u got a "wallhack" ... I've just seen this with my radeon 9800pro

If they don't want it to happen then they can disable MSN popups.

It happens with Trillian Pro, as well.

also, people may have it happen to them unintentionally, which would not make them hackers, just forgetful.

on a side note: hacking in any game is wrong, dont get me wrong, but et/rtcw style games, with "arcade" type damage arent the type of games people need to worry about wallhackers persay. at most, a wallhacker in ET/RtCW will catch a corner camper or someone lying in wait behind a door, where as a wallhack in more realism base games, like CS DoD and CoD a wallhack is far more "handy", if you will. these games are far more campy, and far easier to kill someone, and to know their positions ahead of time is definately more "worth" it.

someone using this MSN wallhack may have the jump on me around a corner, but they'll have to kill me first. any respectable player wouldn't dare do something like that. an unrespectable player couldn't kill me using their cheap hax.
