Hullo all, ive been addicted to ET for around a year now, never played RTCW, i know, sacralidge. im just learning only just made my first autoexec, so im a total novice, i need all the help i can get. My problem is my pc i think, setup wise i mean, usually i can only achieve 43 fps 76 on some more stable maps, without large numbers of players, is this normal?

my hardware should be in my sig, maybe its not quite right or needs some tweaking to get running properly, maybe this is how its supposed to be, dunno, is it?

other thing is a few clan members i have come across online have given me pointers as to what i should have in my autoexec, but they will not show me theirs, is this a big secret? because i dont know what im looking at anyway, but im happy to post mine, just need someone to say if its full of crap or coming along ok, after reading this back i sound like some kind of nut, oh well nothing new there then, anyway thanx for reading guys and ladies if there are any on this forum, feel free to vent your anger on the noob, hello that would be me

That really doesn't sound normal (unless you play at some extremely high resolution). I'd start by looking for updated motherboard/chipset drivers, then possibly trying some different version of the GFX driver.

yeh whit your hardware u shold be able to get better

and since an autoexec onl contains setting i dont see why to keep it a secret unless u lods hax whit it

well i got notihng special in mine and my et works fine
but u might look at wut your com_maxfps is set to

cheers for quick replys guys, will try looking into newer drivers, for chipset and GFX card, nvidia drivers seem to be crap just now, using 66.93 just now.

this is my autoexec, anything should or shouldnt be there, like where do i put the wait 10 in my bind, for the timestamp thingy? as u can see my knowledge knows no bounds, lmao.

you have your fps capped at 76 and 43 with that fps toggle on *

erm... i know i said i was a noob but come on guys, i capped it there cos i cant get any higher and its not a steady cap even on 76, if i let it run the highest my FPS will go is 106 pretty useless if its spiking to this amount not steady, on radar or battery even on small servers i can only achieve a steady 43, im just learning bunnyhopping and basic trick jumps, so you see my need to get this system running as smoothly as possible, thanx again for any advice

btw my res is always the same 1024 x 768 and refreshing at 85 Htz, 85 is the max my monitor supports.

updated my bios, then other drivers, not much difference as it wasnt long ago i updated, now using 71.50 gfx drivers

u could try r_mode 4 to see if that effects it much but from what i can see u havnt tweaked many grfx related cvars.

dont dl ppls cfgs from there cos like anywhere that has cfgs up they r all crap. if u need any help with cfgs come to #ukeg and when im on ilol be more thsn happy to share my knowledge.

with a comp like that only thing i can see might be prob is missing mobo drivers? I assume Intel mobo's have chipset drivers anyway, only been using AMD for a long time now.

http://www.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=P4C800&langs=01 is 3 months old, CPU is new, 6600GT is new, RAM is Adata crap cheap stuff which i will change soon. Anybody fancy coming round to sort out this pc?
