Direct Input in ET

Hello, I have a very simple question:
Why is there no direct input in ET on Windows? (Linux has it!)
I heard that there was in_mouse -1 in the past but it doesn't exist anymore since the 2.60 patch.
What's the reason? Why etpro doesn't fix it?

There never was DI, neither in ET nor in RtCW.
DI was introduced in Q3 in a patch/ point release. Afterwards they released another patch, because some players wanted to have the windows implementation back (Q3's DI implementation added a 12ms buffer, afaik). That's where in_mouse -1 comes from:
-1 -> windows implementation
1 -> direct input
So, in_mouse -1 only works in Q3.
However you can get direct input by using mforce. For more info take a look at
