LilleBror, you have such a severe and fundamental misunderstanding of the issue that I don't even know where to begin. I will simply say that everything you just said was absolutely wrong.

Ok.. mr zinx

a: sv_fps 20 pmove_msec 25 ( half )
b: sv_fps 20 pmove_msec 10 ( 1/5 )
c: sv_fps 20 pmove_msec 5 ( 1/10 )

a b or c ..?

Its simple if I setup a server... as a test,,, without pmove_msec set 8 what would work best as an alternative. Just make believe its the only values that can be set.. :)

Lillebror: Just setup your server and leave us alone with your out of range questions. plz

deus....? just trying 2 understand the mechanics.. pmove_msec its an odd name 2 use on a cvar unless it reflects timed events that happen on a server...

My "idea" would be force'ing the following cvars on an ETpro 3.2.6-2 server..
at sv_fps 20...

snaps 20
rate 25000
r_displayrefresh 0
r_swapinterval 0
com_maxfps 100
cl_maxpackets 100
cl_packetdup 0
cl_nodelta 0
cl_avidemo 0
cg_norender 0
cg_smoothclients 0 or 1
pmove_fixed 0 or 1
pmove_msec 5, 10 or 25 or something else?

im leaning heavy towards...

cg_smoothclients 0
pmove_fixed 0
pmove_msec 10

And se what happens...

+the rest of the standart visual cvar's,...

also forcing all the bobs and rolls 0 just in case if someone has not set them zero...

so i just whant a expert opinion on what value 2 use, if left with the 3 options...

may have zero effect if the server is pmove_fixed 0 forced... but as i say TEST...

Why do you keep asking us when you refuse to listen to the answers we give you ? Since you ignore the answers that conflict with your pre-conceptions, there doesn't seem much point in replying.

Both zinx and I have told you in the plainest terms that pmove_msec doesn't make any difference if pmove_fixed is 0, and that it doesn't relate to sv_fps at all.

Also:
forcing cl_packetdup 0 is a bad idea. packetdup causes no harm and takes very little bandwidth.

cg_smoothclients doesn't even exist in etpro.

Then consider pmove_fixed 1 is forced server side.
same setup as before..
a, b or c... what value would be best..?

//cl_packetdup 0 im going to stick with that... so the clients need 2 geet all thier packets 2 the server not half of them...

//cl_smoothclients... then it make no difference...

You don't really understand what cl_packetdup does, do you?

Tell him pmove_fixed 1 is a bad thing, he wants to set it. Tell him cl_packetdup is a good thing, he wants to disable it.

All I can say is: Don Quichotte .

This is a bad idea, since it breaks the pistols, sniping, and probably a few other things.

As stated before, pmove_msec has no relation to sv_fps.

so the answer is
d) you have no idea what you are talking about.

a: sv_fps 20 pmove_msec 25 ( half )
b: sv_fps 20 pmove_msec 10 ( 1/5 )
c: sv_fps 20 pmove_msec 5 ( 1/10 )

hmm sv_fps 20..all.. at pmove_fixed 1 forced serverside.... was the question...

disregard sv_fps 20 then....

disregard that pmove_fixed 1 is borked,,,

a b or c?

I'm for z.

z: Put "quit" at the end of your server.cfg

LilleBror, the source code is available, go fix it yourself if you aren't getting answers here that confirm your brilliance

amazing...
pmove_msec post...
I cant se the problem in rating the diffent values...

-dont consider the pmove_fixed is broked..
-dont consider b_fixedphysics as an alternative
-pmove_fixed 1 is going to be used serverside and forced clientside.
-server.cfg will use the stated restrictions.

range is 3-33

im asking a simple question about a serverside cvar...

5 - 10 or 25....

Why didn't you say so. I'd go for 10.
