How does b_cheatlog store info about cheats

Post by Benbo »

I wanted to have a try with this new antiHAX stuff, so i added the following lines to the server.cfg
set b_cheatlog "cheaters"
set b_cheatkicktime 60
set b_anticheat 1
i realise "cheaters" gives the file no suffix, saves me opening it in notepad and having linux formatting every time i read it :p

ive had a browse through the log, and there doesnt appear to be much info in it, until about 5pm when i started getting loads of lines starting etpro IAC: followed by a huge alphanumeric string.

am i right in thinking this is a GUID?........ or does this relate to something else?

it doesn't log pb kicks only etpro kicks
the long list of letters i don't believe is a guid its the "cheats" signature, but alot of false positive cheats have come forth

This is debug information we use to tune the anticheat -- Please pass the information on to one of the etpro developers when you see it.

so, u guys want the IAC numbers submitted?

Another Question
I am working with a group called PBBans,
From what ive seen so far the ETPro GUID appears to be fixed (is it?) i was wondering if ETPro logs this "ETProID" as it would be very useful in future for alias tracking and linking peoples PB GUID's, ie stopping all the lame cheating out there.

Now i realise that ETPro is designed to stop and disable cheats, but eventually someone will start coming up with new cheats that ETPro doesnt stop, so this is where the whole ban system comes in to play.

And hell, i generally feel vindictive towards cheats and like banning them just for the sake of it
