PB Web Tool and ETPRO 3.0.0

Post by Badhabit »

Can't seen to get it to work, just yet.
I still have more configs to check, but was just wondering if any one else has had problems with it?

I can't see any problem with the PB WebTool and don't think ETpro 3.0.0 affects it.

for various reasons we strongly discourage use of the pb webtool. not because etpro behaves badly with it, but because 'tards can use it to hang your server.

the pb web page when talking about the webtool adverts users that the webtool uses a non secure http conecion to your server thats the primary warning that its not be good to use it!
If you wish to be able to use the WebTool from another computer connected via network to the game server (even across the Internet if desired), then the pb_sv_httpAddr setting needs to be set to hold the routable IP Address of the game server. Please note that the WebTool does not use a secure protocol (such as https) for performance reasons. That means that any information you send from your web browser to the WebTool is sent in plain text (including the Key/Password).

And so your other option is, what, rcon? Guess what kind of security it has :)

I reported the webtool bug to evenbalance on May 12, 2003, and it's still broken. Absolutely trivial to hang a server that has it enabled, too. :(
