ETAdmin - Semi Admin - Questions
Anyone know if the ETAdmin mod can be put onto a server hosted by Art of War Central? I've asked them, the hosts, but also gonna ask here.
Anyone here have the ETAdmin mod on their ETPro 3.2.0 server? Do you like it? Is it as helpful as I imagine with delegating admin capabilities?
Also, anyone know more about Semi Admin? What the hell is it, even? A form of limitted ref or rcon? What is it's capabilities?
Thanks.

semiadmins are given a handful of commands (the serveradmin decides which ones) to users who know the semiadminpassword for the certain level.
See the etpro documentation for further information.
the etadmin mod has + and -
it spams the users if configured bad , but it makes things a lot easier in some way....
you need a shell to execute the etadminmod.

Hi,[DR]REVOS wrote:Anyone know of a windows version? Damn host said "oh we can put it on" then when I give them the link they're like, "Oh, that's linux, we need the windows version"
you need cygwin to let it run with windows. Here is a small howto:

I bet, you could let it run with the windows gnu utils instead, but i never tried that.

As i said, the mod is in written in perl. Most likely you could get it running with activestate perl (which is perl for windows). But for now, i use tail for tracking the logfile. This has to be changed or replaced with the gnu windows tail, which is also available. But ... as i said, i never really tried nor do i know of someone how tried.gotenks wrote:i haven't heard of one... most of them run in perl, someone could possibly write one, not sure
Maybe i replace the code, if i have a "cpu and resource" sparing way to do it in perl.
