Vote cancelled

Don't know if it is a known bug (search gaveme nothing), but it happens sometime on etpro servers: random people (not referees!) canceling other people votes (like if the callvoter pressed f2).

[As a side (and maybe crazy) note, I can state that it happened to me only when I'm dead => I'm spectating someone => Can be posible that the spectated played cancel the vote for me?]

semiadmin, ref and rconners are only ones who can cancel votes

The one who casted the vote can cancel the vote too. But we've seen some random canceling when no admin/semiadmin/referee was present.

Did you check /players to make sure there were no refs ? Passwords do get leaked or guessed at times. Refs should also show up in the server log, so you can check that agianst the people who are supposed to be refs.

Not sure about SA, but would guess that gets logged too.

Yep, I checked /players to blame the referee who cancel my vote, but no referee was on the server.

u sure it was cancelled and not just failed faster than u expected? seen some of these votes fail b4 i get chance to cancel them. Also its not always possible to see if someone with rcon is on the server as we tend to play tagless and with obscure names just so we can have a peaceful game

Oddly, some regular players on our server asked me the same question a couple of weeks ago...
At that time I wasn't really looking into it, tought they were just too drunk to notice.
But now that l30 got the same issue, I have to pay closer attention...
Seems like a nasty little bug sneaked into the 'double vote' code.

this occured to more than once and i was 100 % sure there was nobody having rcon/ref/sa on our server.

for European users: it happens alot on the Skynet servers too without a ref being present...

but i think its a bug since l30 doesnt seem to be the only 1

I don't think it's a bug, as some servers are set up to cancel certain types of votes (at the beginning or during the game), example: RoseBud servers.

Yeah, it could be that the server is running etadmin_mod and its set to cancel votes during a certain part of a map (ie, the last 5 minutes).

Could this be the cause?

Nope, I'm sure no etadmin mod or on-purpose server cancelling is happening here.
