playing on et pro 3.18 server BUGS

ugh we all experienced this .. so i dunno what..maybe or maybe not a bug at the start of each match my screen freezes and the anouncers voice repeats voice repeats voice repeats voice repeats voice repeats then everyhting is normal! well that all i got ... have your take on it

I've always had that... doesnt bother me tho...

the annoying part is now it never unfreezes... and the game crazshes (like explained in the other bug topic :/)

I've been playing 3.1.8 yesterdag evening without any problems whatsoever (ATI Omega 2.5.90 drivers), but a frend running a nVidea had this stottering during the start of every round.. Another also running on an ATI was without any trouble like I was.

I was playin in a 3.1.8 server last night as well and after an XP shuffle there was about 10 seconds of off and on freezing or lag. Other people in the server said it happined to them to. I also have nVidea drivers.

I have this same issue.
I'm running Norton AV2002 as part of NSW on a WinXP PC.

This occurs on both of my Linux, dedicated, pure servers, or maybe it happens to my ET client on both servers, not sure which is the cause.
I hear the announcer call "fight" 4 times, and the player freezes for that 3 or 4 seconds, but I get no crash, everything works fine all the way through the map.

I also notice a "freezes" when the map first loads and dumps you off to the limb screen.
It's hard to detect if you are not looking for it, but it is there.

try turning off the firewall/antivirus and see if it still happens.

find out if there's a way to tell your antivirus/firewall to ignore et.exe

I have Norton anti-virus, but it is not running in the background. NIS for my firewall, it is set to permit for all et.exe activity. Do not have this problem in 3.1.0. No changes to the anti-virus/firewall settings have been made.

I have the same prob, but I am using Zone Labs Security Suite.
Its really annoying, you allways lose 30 sec. on start from each level.

PS: I have turned off my ZL. but nothing happens, its all the same.
