team_max* limited whatever weapon you were trying to use.

e.g. team_maxpanzers 1
someone on your team had a panzer already, that weapon is out of stock.

easy to reproduce...

try to select a team via the console as a spectator, but instead of "/team axis" or "/team alied" fake a typo in the teamname.
It's either a bug or an easter egg 8)

Btw, that player model in your screenie is way out of proportion. msn<->ati combo?

What I said...
You made a typo when selecting your team, you typed "/team axixs" instead of "/team axis"
This gives the "out of stock message", wich is clearly an unintended bug or an intended easteregg (shrugging, all out of knifes.... wild guess and can't remember it but too lazy to look it up... )

gigo!=bug
if you input the wrong thing, you won't get desired results... eg:
/weaponblank 1
will not switch you to your knife

Not true. That mistaken assumption is responsible for millions of vulnerable programs. Even garbage input should give sane output, like no action or an error message.

In this case garbage input gives unexpected results (weapon out of stock for a spectator). In this particular case it seems harmless, but such things usually indicate code that didn't take all possible inputs into consideration, meaning that an exploit might well be lurking nearby.
