Funny XP bug but can't reproduce it

Today I had a weird bug yet - for me - fortunate bug.
Connected to one of the Arena51.be servers, played a bit, then decided to alter my config so I disconnect.
Upon reconnecting my stats are supposed to get restored (something of about 95 XP), however I do not pay attention to this so I'm not sure whether they were restored or not.
Instead, while speccing some random guy (who was 2nd on the axis side) I re-execute my autoexec.cfg which has a vid_restart in there and all of sudden I have 500+ XP, lvl 4 medic, lvl 4 battle sense & lvl 3 light weapons... The vid_restart was executed at the exact same time as when the guy I specced reach lvl 3 light weapons, perhaps there's a clue there?
I can't reproduce it, no matter how hard I try. It's also not really a problem for comp matches since XP has been removed by all big leagues.
Anyone else had this happen to him?
