it seems to me that this new patch has included many of the "etpro" fixes, should make shrub work better imho, but unfortunately etpro anti-cheat wasn't included, maybe ryan will figure out it's time for pb to have another look at ET and maybe even update his old shrubberies

sorry 'bout the shrub references

Hmm. hear this all the time from the ETPRO lovers. But give me examples for some advantages that shrubet didnt have.
Maybe for WARs ETPRO has some good features, but I think we are talking here about the pubs.
And I know not ONE advantage of ETPRO. But I can count a lot of SHRUBET.

you just cant compare etpro and shrub

etpro is made by 5 people
shrub by 1 guy

etpro is a competition mod
shrub is a fun pub mod

they both aim to a different public

plus the fact that shrub is server side lowers the barrier for newbies who are scared away by stuff autodownloading on their pc.
Our servers now run on 64 bit steroids. Point your ET to:
- Forgotten Ground StopWatch Server with occasional wolfrof 1
- Fraggle Rock ETPub Server - Mix up ET/UT & Duke Nukem

But the latest SHRUB is often difficult to locate, anyone have that link?

I had the ETPro 3.1.9 beta running, though it was spaming that the server is incorrectly installed and though it worked for me I had a few Windows clients that couldn't play because et.exe kept giving them an application error involving writable memory addresses.

Shrub has not been updated in over a year, even the last "test release" was December 2003.

Not another pissing match of "which one is better"!! It all comes down to personal preference on 99% of these issues.

Just repect each others' views, and please realize that if etpro gets more popular, ET gets more popular; the same thing for shrub, and all the other mods. You can't really argue with the fact that ET has been around so long just because it's fun. It's not just to etpro's or shrub's credit, it's to the credit of everyone involved: players, modders, mappers, admins, etc...

Youd have to be rather niave to honestly think shrub has more advantages over etpro, mainly etpro is clientside and serverside when shrub is only an incomplete server side hax.

I respect that some people prefer Shrub, but seing that it's basically two different games I honestly don't care if shrub is popular or not. :)
