I was playing on campaign, left after 1 map... didn't have that much xp or stars (level 1-2 max), came back after the map i left on and i had 1030 xp, 4 stars in battle sence and light weapons... almost 3 stars in engineering, 2 in heavy weapons and 1030 xp... i had played earlier (different campaign) but this was several hours ago... but the stars and xp was similar to the previous campaign.
So either:
I got someone else's XP
or
I got my XP from previous campaign
can you try to reproduce it in a controlled fashion?

The bug was kinda different for me, i have like 900xp or something, i left, came back the next campaign when everyone had 100 xp.. and kept my 900, then xpshuffle vote was called it passed, and i then had 0 xp.

Well clanbase's config already contains b_realhead 1.
EagleReloaded wrote:How many people complaining about ROF have actually tested it yet? And in an actual scrim?
We tested it (and no we're not a top clan) and it increases defensive opportunities alot. Well chosen camping spots lead to full holds most of the time.

I really dont subscribe to Shakes' POV - change for the sake of change is hardly a positive thing IMHO.

Only reason I'm not still playing RTCW is lack of map variety. Only things boring in ET is lack of quality maps, trying to keep track of a gazillion different setups, average age of community being 13.

client/server mismatch error

Post by 007-Bond »

Ever since the 2.60 update and 3.1.12 etpro has come out. I have been getting 2 different errors and getting booted out of my server.

here is a pic of one of them.

<img src="http://www.tuneyourpc.com/ET/client-server_error.jpg">

this still occurs regularly in 3.1.14. Any Idea why this is happening??

I will try to cap the other one too next time it occurs, sumthing about reading memory (yes, still an ingame error).

Any help would be great!

Thankx etpro team for all the hard work.

problem 1. sv_pure 0... it should be set to 1
problem 2. multiple pk3's (etpro 3.1.9, and 3.1.12 for example) (possible)
problem 3. argh, cannot remember what i did, but check the files in your directory to make sure they're a. the same as on the http redirect if your using it, b. valid, and c. correctly refrenced

Wow. most of that topic was on the rate of fire. lots of reading for nothing. do you guys who are against it know what an "option" is? simply put, have it or don't have it. it's there if you want it. just as hitsounds.

nice work on putting out this beta bani and etpro team :). the one thing I would like to see added as an "option" for clients is +dropweapons. almost nothing better than to toss your weapon away when you run out of ammo or to make a fast getaway if you're using a heavy weapon.
Success is only gained through failure.

+dropweapon has more reasons for being included in a competiton ET mod than wolf rate of fire. Fat chance ever seeing it though. Bani, doesn't want it in his mod. Optional or not.

ROF

Post by Spacemonkehh »

It was an entire pointless discussion indeed.

The day i started to play RTCW:ET, i actually believed ETpro was created by the same people that did OSP for quake3. It really looks like OSP, although some features like /coach are still missing (specinvite is there... but coachinvite allows you to enter the 'multi-cam mode' , and chat in teamchat so you can time powerups , or have a complete oversight to change the tactics during the game )

In OSP, you could vote for 'promode'. This mode changes the movement physics & weapon switch time back to the old quake 1 days. This mode is completely optional ; infact, more then 50% of the OSP servers have that vote disabled.

Wasnt it the goal to only enhance the game? why did they added the ability to alter the original game (weapon ROF or promode in OSP) ?. It is quite simple : Most of these 'features' are usually server-sided or locked so you cannot vote for them. It is completely optional for server admins and league admins to either enable them or not. More features and options will keep people satisfied :).

Still, it would be sad to see leagues running wolfrof on, since it will completely remove the old feeling, but thats just my opinion. I think it is good enough for public as it adds more fun.

I still think the wolfrof option should be added to callvote, like :

/callvote wolfrof "classic RTCW" or "Enemy Territory"

about the bug posted above :

i've experienced the same over the last couple of days. I think a whole lot of serveradmins need to clean up their ETpro directory and remove the old (pre 2.56 ) content.

Obviously not actually read the thread then

b_wolfrof is not an option "just as hitsounds", it's server-side. Read back a bit to understand why it's nothing like as "optional" as you'd think.

I'd like to see b_damageFallOff expanded, so you could choose to have damage fall off for body shots but headshots would always do the full amount of damage. I think headshots should be rewarded regardless of distance, with realHead on it's harder to hit them so why not reward that? Sure it stands to hurt offence but it also means that a quick SMG burst is enough to deal with a defensive medic sitting on a pile of packs. So perhaps add b_distanceFallOff 2 to implement this? Just a thought.

SD got the OSP/RtCW source from Rhea and included it (or parts of it at least) in etmain...
