Hi

i'm wondering how i could change the texture, used for basic sky, from gray to plain black? is there a command, or is a texture for it in the pak0?

i know i used to have it black, but then i was tinkering around with the ET instalation and now its gray

/seta r_fastsky "1" is the only way I know, possibly the grey texture is from a different mod

Is it always the same color?
My guess:
It's the average color of the sky texture (although I don't play with fastsky).

have you tried it on oasis?

i get gray on every map accept oasis (there i get somesort of desert brown/yellowish kinda sky)

agree, oasis is not playable with fastsky

so basicly, noone has an idea how i would turn it black?

It would probably involve replacing the sky texture, but everyone would hate you for dropping that kind of PK3 on their system \o/

well, ofcourse. i just thought someone knew excatly which texture is used for it

I think its related to the ambient light color of the map.

And I think that is set in the .bsp

So you'd either need mod support, or to remake the map with whatever color you want. And no, I dont think you'll get mappers to start using black because they'll want it to be something else so all the rest of the map looks good.

It can also be done with an OpenGL wrapper, but then you won't be able to play on cheat protected servers.
