bani, what are the requirements for setting up an ETTV broadcast server similar to the now defunct Italian ones?

If we had a list of required specifications people could ask around and try and find a server company who is after a little bit of free advertising ;)

requirements
  • linux
  • ssh
  • tons of bandwidth (200 viewers = ~1.5 mbyte/sec = ~ 12mbit/sec)

Hi,

i just spoke with a friend at GamesUniteD. And we talked about hosting a ETTV server for you.

But:
Do you need a ssh shell? Or does the server just needs a ssh shell (besides its a linux box). Traffic wouldn't be a problem for us, but we have some security rules, that do not permit external ssh shells.

But it shouldn't be a problem to upload updates just in time.

greets
Mark

PS: gamesunited hosts about 20 gameservers. ET (4), CS, TFC, EliteForce, JK2, ...

ETTV UK server

Post by cepheus-FPS »

I have a UK based ETTV server for bani to test, I expect 200-300 slots to be available for testing. Ill let you know more as things progress. Unfortunately this server is not for the general public to use as of yet. However we do expect it to be used for some of the www.etleague.com matches.
