its a cpu issue on oldcrows. cant fix it without shutting down one or more of the servers.

fwiw a dual 2ghz xeon is scheduled to be installed within a week or two, which should fix most of the lag problems.

If alexjones8194 had a penis it would be called "useless." Reason being is all it would be good for is him stepping on it.

Mmmmm...XEONs....yummy

Is the Server solely for your use or is it a shared service?

You could leave a top process running > logfile to give you at least some information about what else might be bottelnecking your own process.

I suggest you make sure that the network card interface is set to Full Duplex.

Perhaps even ask them how they connect your server to the OC48. Of course, in the real world it is probably 100Mbit and a few switches dotted around, before it gets to a router, before it gets to the real internet. Ask them if the service they offer has FD everywhere. HD (Half Duplex) can cause an extortionate amount of 'collisions' on a cheap switch. You are within your rights to ask them what switches they use to

RTCW servers imo use a lot of resource. It is more than likely that the problem lies within the server itself and its 'balancing' of shared services. The CPU usage of RTCW is directly proportional to the number of clients attached. I have not had much luck in inhibiting the rates to improve performance. Usually the best answer is to throw lots of CPU at the games - they like CPU's. The best way to improve performance (reduce lag) is to reduce the number of clients.

If you post your cfg here I am sure these lovely people will indicate if something is immediately astray.

One last thought....get a multiple CPU system...not a single. 2 cpus is ideal for a couple of rtcw games. 4 cpus if you wanna get serious.

Good Luck
