poison gas grenades

in testing on oldcrows objective...

spies lose the poison knife, but get poison gas grenades.

use them to clear out campers from the war room...

they last for 30 seconds and the gas effect is cumulative. stay around for too long and you get dizzy. the gas poisoning effect takes a few seconds to wear off.

the longer a gas grenade runs, the wider the area its gas gets dispersed.

spies can only have 1 gas grenade deployed at a time.

i know there are some bugs with the bouncing physics, they sometimes stick in walls. you can stand on them to 'block' them. those bugs will be fixed eventually.

what i need feedback on is the general balance of gas grenades in gameplay.

It's OKAY.

But then there's the people that place them near the OBJ and you can't get to it.
The people that put them at the spawn.
The people that ask HOW you do it.
The noises get annoying, the smoke, AND the ORGASM-like ones.
And that it's EVERYWHERE.

You know, That is very similar to what I had in mind. Except it wouldnt go to a spy. It would go to a scout (since they are weak as it is) and they would get sort of a Mustard Gas instead of the smoke nades. It would last for 30 seconds hurting anyone who comes near it. It sure would give scouts a little more advantage.

noticed a few bugs with it...
1. I threw the gernade at the bottom of the stairs while standing at the top of the stairs the poisin was effecting me (the first corner where the allies go down then go up before going down again...
2. It effects even outside the smoke radius... the damage should only effect within the smoke radius
3. The Gernades should be destroyable so that you don't have to stand around waiting for the gernade to die... Maybe make it so that you have to gernade/dyno and everything in the smoke radius get's killed/damaged
4. Admins should have a toggle so they can choose poisin knife or smoke nades

they suck like they are.

1. U cant use nades and uniform together
2. u cant throw em like nades( i wouldnt even call it an arc)
3. ure bar dont recharge until poison is over.
4. Makes some levels unplayable

this would be a good limitation for the smoke nades
tie them into the energy bar like using the sten... as the smoke gernade goes on it lowers your energy bar... so if you change uniforms throw a smoke nade and use your sten your nade won't last very long

I like the dizzying effect they create. Instead of doing damage, how about only doing the dizzying effect. It won't over power they spy and he can still keep the knife.

u cant use poison and uniform. uniform takes off energy and poison needs all energy. i still wanna be able to change clothes if i use nade. i dont like the nade how it is right now. it looks fucking retarded when u throw it. it doesnt act like normal nade

The gas has some major glitches, but its fun. The gas radius is way to large as it is though.

remember medpacks cure the poison effects. meds should have no problem getting to objective no matter how many nades are near the obj.

and putting nades near the obj means the defenders cant be near the obj either. its a two edged sword.

u should limit the amount per team. i was playing beach and the axis kept throwing them by the door and breach and u could plant dyno.
