I have an ad blocker installed that does some good(Panicware)-but I still get pop-ups in the middle of games. It sucks when I have 9 gold on my way to a pole, and an ad pops up(which makes it impossible for me to move), and FFC Defective kills me for, like, the hundredth time that match, and cashes in. Most of my ads are for the Ad Blocker's company anyway. It's damn annoying.

Yes, as TEAMMATE said. Windows XP has this annoying messenger service. Those are the message box type ads. For easy reference, this is how to stop those:
1) Right click My Computer, click Manage.
2) Click on Services and Applications.
3) Click on Services.
4) Right click on Messenger and select Properties.
5) Set its Startup Type to Disabled. Then, stop the service.
If you have WEBSITE popup ads, then this is THE program to get. NoAds will stop IE ads, ads with Wildcard titles, America Online ads, and Opera ads.

Now, if you cannot figure out WHAT THE HECK is causing these ads, then it is time for... *drumroll* Lavasoft Ad-Aware 6! *raaaah!* This program will search your computer for all ad-related programs or tracking devices. You can get it here: http://www.lavasoft.de/
I hope any of these help.

I'd say just get Mozilla and ditch IE all together.

Yes, this worked great. I had stupid Zone Alarm for those text pop ups. It worked but it had its problems. This is the right solution. Thanks Boco and Teammate.
Things are more like they are now than they were before.
