I choose not to describe my opinion on this subject being i had to write a 4-5 page report over the summer for my comp class on this topic and it ended up being 12 pages long... but feel free to post your opinions... just try not to be too long
oh and remember that human cloning and stem cell research are quite different... they just start similarly
also you can define your punishments too... that is contriversial too...

I have a human cloning lab in my basement, its really quite dandy, im for it!

Oh great, Ph0g lookalikes. He'll brainwash them into being just like him. I'm pretty against human cloning. There is no real reason for it. Stem cell research is okay I suppose. The only thing I don't want is clones. Clones are bad, mmkay.

Ph0g clones would rule!

I shall clone myelf 10 times, give them different aliases, and form a clan :D.

Then you'd have to pay for their computers and DSL accounts.

what is your reasons for not liking clones? after all identical twins are clones aswell, just natural

But this cloning introduces MASS MANUFACTURING OF CLONES. Then they'll be a price on people. How much are you worth? Well for now, for only $9999.95 you can be cloned and replaced!

Any drugs here?

replaced???? how could they replace you, they're a totally different person, just like identical twins... i have never seen two identical twins act alike, nor any of that psychic link scifi schtuff...
Unless circumstances of raising the cloned child are exactly the same, which is impossible even nature observes the chaos theory, they will grow up to be a different person... in otherwords you can not clone another hitler or anything...
also what since human cloning can be a form of fertility treatment, how much unlike "test tube" babies, which are more common than you probably know, is cloning babies??? An example of this is... my wife is getting sterilized, she get's pregnant too easy... well if we decide to have another child the only way to get one related to us is to a. use an egg donated by her sister... um no thanx... try to get an egg from her, which can be dangerous, then make a "test tube" baby (i can't remember the scientific name for it maybe invitro fertilization), or to clone one of us...

Cloning an entire person is pretty goddamn hard.

Cloning is useful in cloning specific parts, for instance, a kidney. What's wrong with cloning someone a new kidney?

cloning in the respect of growing organs is within the range of stem cell research...
human cloning is possibly easier than cloning non-primate animals because of how the gene's are encoded.

hmmm

true it would be great for cloning new organs and what mind u but another question stands if u do clone a person will it have all the same exact memory as the person that is cloned and if not u couldnt call it cloning then cause the 2 wouldnt be alike in every way so how would they go about having the same exact memory for the clones as the person being cloned? :?:

by gotenks
that's sci-fi... you can't clone memories, therefor the person is different than the genetic donor

yeah

yeah but then u cant call them clones can u?

yes you can... a clone is a genetic identical copy of a person... memories are not built into your genes... there for it has nothing to do with cloning... except in hollywood
