ETPRO reward system

Post by baaskaas »

I've read alot of post inhere about the ET reward system and how it screws up competitive play, rewarding the better players (teams) to give them an even bigger advantage.

My idea is simpel but prolly not accepted by most players.

The idea is reverse the award system.

What i mean is at the beginning of a match let everyone start with level2 everything. By scoring xp you'll lose stars. Also make the class dependant rewards grouped to prevent class switching after "emptying" a particular class.

I think it will make an interresting modification to the game.

For unballanced wars it will be interresting as the stronger team quickly see their reward dissapear making it harder to win.

:) ok , let the flaming begin

ps. dont waste time saying i'm a stupid noob :P i already know that

The problem with XP is that it rewards the better players as the game progresses. The ideal solution is no XP, so that everyone starts on a level footing and remains on a level footing.

Any system that alters players abilities as the game unfolds is a bad thing IMO, even a negative reward system such as you suggest.

Besides, I don't see how either team starting strong and getting weaker would make for a more balanced game than starting weak and staying weak (by comparison).

well it all comes down to who has better aim

its not like a level 4 player is god
Bandit is looking for a ET Clan!
I am proficient in combat and medical skills
My accurracy is usually around 35-40%
I usually get at least twice as many kills as deaths

level 4 medic _is_ god. tons of health, adrenaline, full revives, etc.

level 4 eng can take almost a direct panzer to the face and survive.

level 4 soldier can loose a panzer on you, then immediately switch to smg to finish you off.

well i was not talking about level 4's who are as bani said too powerfull

But more bout the level 2's as seen more and more in competitive play.

Still imho it would be more challenging to defeat a clan that's just little weaker after you lose your stars.

Level 3 light weapons takes care of that, lowering SMG recoil by ~35%
