I created a watermark using Gimp and have loaded it. I receive an error when I start my server and join in:

LoadTGA: Only type 2, 3 and 10 TGA images supported.

Obviously this is to do with how Gimp saves the file but I could not find any options to let me alter this.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Make sure your image is RGB, not indexed or grayscale.

Failing that, try adding an alpha channel (in the layers menu.)

That was the problem (indexed). Thanks so much Rain for your help.

HELP! Watermark won't appear in server

Ok, me and a buddy are trying to get a watermark to work. We used photoshop version 6, and tryed 8.The problem we are getting is that the watermark isn't showing up in the server, yet we download it upon getting in. We did everything we were told, i'll type it out just incase:

1.Made the watermark, 250x250.
2.We made one from scratch, and tryed Opening a file from disk to have a premade image.
3.Used Wand around the edges of the logo.
4.Made new channel called alpha.
5.Filled the logo with white.
6.Saved as a TGA file at 32bit.
7.Created a folder called "watermark".
8.Created a folder called "clannamehere".
9.Put the file in the folder "clannamehere".
10.Put the folder "clannamehere" in "watermark" folder.
11.Made the "watermark" folder a pk3 file.
12.Put pk3 into etpro server.
13.Joined server, downloaded watermark.
14.Notice watermark isn't showing up.

We tryed other watermark's that people have made, and they work. We followed all steps but it still seems not to work. HELP! :(

Wouldn't putting white over the logo in gamma make its alpha = 0? :?

Did you try the same process, but minus any gamma channel? (at least that would eliminate that as being the source of error)

Hi,

did you change:
// b_watermark - enables a server watermark on the client's display.
// see the admin guide for full details. This should be the name of
// the image without the extension, or blank to disable; for example:
// set b_watermark "ourclan/logo"
// default: "" valid values: image filename
set b_watermark ""
in your server config ?

greets
Mark

Either this statement is wrong or your watermark is the wrong size.

We got it working. It turned out that the program has to be 'WINZIP' not the zip tool that comes with windows xp. Don't know the difference but when we used WINZIP it worked. Winzip was downloaded off the net.

The size can be anything up to 250x250 as long as it's a square, so 1x1 to 250x250.

have you set the right options in the server config?
like b_watermark ?
and have you set them on your local client? if you locally set it to 0 you will never see a watermark

upload http://etpro.poohunter.de/13thwm.pk3 into etpro directory (and wwwredirectdownloaddir (if used))
add to server.cfg

Code: Select all

set b_watermark "13th/13th"
