FPS & Timer not showing

Post by Northerner »

a few days ago i dont know what happened but all of a sudden i no longer
can see the FPS counter or the timers, both options are turned on in the
game and my configs but they just dont appear on the screen when i am
in a game

i keep my brass and muzzle flash and those things all turned off. but i
want the fps counter and reinforce timers on

can anyone help me with this problem?

Try turning then OFF in the ETPro menu, join a team, then turn them back ON.

i just tried that and it didnt work

another problem i had in all of my player configs was at the end of
several lines it said 'unsafe'

i deleted that off the end of about 15 lines (cant remember which lines
had that added to the end)

a friend of mine has the same thing on his and we both dont ever remember
seeing that 'unsafe' part before in our configs

I wish he would, the compression would probably make it smaller than the frickin GIF98 that infests his sig right now.

annoying if you are using several windows surfing at the same time and this one takes all the bandwith to load your sig :x

Code: Select all

>/set b_offtopic 1
>/echo "why don't use the flash? it should be much smaller in size."
>/echo "A ISDN user has to download aproximately 5 minutes for a 1 MB filesize"
>/echo "so he has to load 35 minutes to see that small banner ?"
>/set b_offtopic 0

i did some tweaking to your siggy and got it down to 380k if you want i'll send it to you, save you a LOT of bandwith and instead of loading in 20 mins on 56k it'd load in 2 mins
just pm me with your e-mail and i'll send it to you

make sure you have cg_drawFireTeamOverlay set to 1 if its set to 0 the timer and fps will go away dispite having cg_drawfps and cg_drawtimer set to 1 ... I really dont think etpro fixed this so I think thats your problem

here is what my etpro config showed

seta cg_drawFireteamOverlay "0.2"

seta cg_drawTeamOverlay "2"

i also forgot to mention that i dont have a fireteam showing onscreen
anymore either, i like to have the opacity set to where i can barely see it.
so that is probably why it is at 0.2 but why would drawteamoverlay be set
at 2 ??

i am going to switch them both to '1' and see what happens

Indeed this was the cause of your problems. You were probably looking for b_fireteamAlpha ;)
