ETPro anticheat bug: new ATI drivers labeled as a cheat

I was quite happy after installed the just released linux ATI drivers (8.8.25), but unfortunately every ETPro server kicks me out with the following log:

Please verify that this is fixed on a 3.1.9 server.

It was kind of tricky but I think I found the "guilty": only servers with b_anticheat = 2 kicks me out (default value 1, is Ok). Same thing happends with 3.1.9 too.

BTW, with older linux drivers I haven't experienced this behaviour before.

That is why the docs recommend NOT setting this cvar higher then 1. A big RTFM to those admins!

Ok, summing up:

3.1.0 servers are affected (with b_anticheat = 2 you are automatically kicked and = 1 you only get marked as CHEATER in a nice red label)

3.1.9 are are not affected (they shows you as a clean linux client)

Since 2 is not the default, I think its a fair bet to say they have RTFM and deliberately chosen it anyway. Some admins will accept incorrect kicks if it makes it even a bit harder for people to cheat there.

given <i>two</i> lots of anticheat software have rarely been ahead of the cheaters for the past year, and the extreme difficulty in banning, I'm finding it easy to understand (though i dont do it myself).

no, I have b_anticheat = 1 and etpro 3.1.0 and I get kicked.

There is a reason why they come up as cheat (even if its a false positiv) and there is also always a way to fix it. So I guess admins simply think that these players can come back when they got the system clean.
