XP Shuffle without restart

Post by sucker_pvn »

I can get very upset when some less skilled players start voting for 'XP Shuffle's" without them realising there is also that much better option to shuffle without a restart and without losing one's XP. but can the regular XP shuffle be disabled so that only the other is left?

On the servers I always play I asked this very thing but it seems the admin could only disable them both, which is pretty pointless.

If this possibility does not exist, I would kindly want to ask bani to make this an option in a next version of ETPro.

I think you missed his point ;-).
Our servers now run on 64 bit steroids. Point your ET to:
- Forgotten Ground StopWatch Server with occasional wolfrof 1
- Fraggle Rock ETPub Server - Mix up ET/UT & Duke Nukem

Does b_beginRound work server side? Cause then bugging server admins to put

seta b_beginRound "seta vote_allow_shuffleTeams 0"

in their config would be the easiest solution.

Would that be a complete solution for my question? So the regular shuffle vote dissapears but the 'without restart' still remains?

Or does this alter the way the regular shuffle vote works?

You could use a lua mod to catch and disable the regular shuffle.

Since I don't have acces to the server myself, and know nothing about the LUA scripting language, would it be hard/lots of work for some of you guys to slap something together that would disable the regular shuffle for me? (And obviously keep the 'without a restart' one!)

I can't think it would be much work, some of you must have some scripts in use already so adding/removing some lines might be easy enough.

(Please? :))

Some dude who knew LUA programming as well has made a script that's being testen on those servers I play all the time so thanks for your info, the problem has been solved.

(Check that initial link to follow that conversation. :))
