So what i would like to see is something that would show me when i'm shot at, when screenshakes and knockback are disabled you just cant figure out from where your being shot at.

Thats not the thing i'm asking for, what i would like is substitute for screen shakes, so you dont know exactly where the shooter is, but know which way to turn, left right or 180°.

ET isn't meant to be about aiming skill. It certainly plays a part, but it's not meant to play as large a part as some other games. If you want a game that's about aiming, there are a lot of games other than ET out there that aren't quite as much about teamplay/tactics, and are all about how well you can aim.

I can't see how even if you had a heads up telling you what direction your being shot from would save you, by the time you turn and see exactly where he/she is your dead :lol: .

If you are been shot from behind, even with a 180 script you still have to see where exactly the player is thats shooting you, aim and start shooting yourself, imo too late as they already have the advantage and you will still most likely die first, unless you have an aimbot lolololol.

Something like that is alright in young childerns games or pub-fun mods, but not ETPro.

I dont need a 180 scripts, and i can kill ppl behinding me if i have screenshakes to tell me where the shooter is, they dont tell you exactly where to aim but they narrow down positions where shooter might be. I'm asking for some kind of damage markes thet would act the same as screenshakes (except for screen shaking part).

@zinx, i never said et is all about aiming skill, and making it more about aiming wont make it non-teambased game. If this damage marker option can be added, i'd appreciate it.

The plethora of aimbot users have shown that making it more about aiming *WILL*, in fact, make it less about teamplay/tactics.

Wouldn't it be easier to notice it someone has bot it theres no spread since he would be 100% acurate, and have 2 or 3 times more hs than kills? No screenshakes would make it easyer to see target switching too, or am i wrong?

It probably would at first; but the bots would adapt to be less accurate, too.
In any case, I don't think it's worth ruining the game just to catch a few aimbots...

I'll hate to impose, but I don't believe that one person has the right to choose what's best for everyone. The above arguments, are pretty much subjective at most and how much they may be right or wrong doesn't add to it.

That said, quite a few people share the comon feeling that damage markers and cvars such as b_screenShakes and b_spread are needed and the reason for posting it in this forum is because this is the only competitive mod for Enemy Territory.

We would really appreaciate some formal discussion about a possible implementation and what should be required for that to happen (Does it has to be a league admin asking for such proposals or the likes).

IMO ET does not need things like that. there is already some screenshake thing that serveradmins can force to be enabled or somewhatevertheywant

I tried the server and..., about knockbacks im not really sure... in general no-knockbacks just destroyed my idea of how much damage i was receiving.. and infact..combined with hitsounds, ...the enemy would have a better idea of many hitpoints i have left, than myself.. thats not how its supposed to be.. knock backs gotta stay.. and the matter about geting shot from behind..well i'd rather prefer having kncokbacks in that situation.. about knockbacks when aiming/shooting.. maybe it could be compensated,..so when youre shooting at someone.. you will get no knockbacks.. or less knockback.

About spread..its interesting from a curious gamer point of view,..to see how good/bad you actaully aim.. ..so for practice purposes, and to get an idea of how netcode works in practice..its interesting and fun.. ..still spread is just to try and give it a little it of realism..as you would get spread..emptying a magazine with a mp40/thompson.. the only thing i could wish..that it could be equal for all.. atm i'm myself exploiting the mhz/fps bug..cause i can..and because i know others do..so i dont wanna make the odds for myself, worse than they already are.

b_hitsounds are the root of this devilship.im telling you all!!!! =D.. instead of all this..people would just play the damn game.. instead of whining when they dont get the "DING!"...
