I'll ask this here since the ETPro team was responsible for the 2.60 patch which fixed 44 kHz sound...
I'm wondering what kind of "work" has to be done in real-time depending on the value of s_khz. Since some sounds have been upsampled but others have not, there will always be sounds playing that are not at the chosen sample rate.
Example:
s_khz = 22 but fire.wav = 44 kHz
Or:
s_khz = 44 but vsay.wav = 22 kHz
How is this handled? Is one more taxing than the other (upsampling vs downsampling)?
Obviously the impact either way is miniscule or it would be noticeable, but I'm curious.
Thanks
s_khz
