To finish ETPro? v2

Post by Dersaidin »

New list from this thread.
From that thread, the following have been addressed:
4,5 - Fixed in recent release
6 - Can use b_endround "statsall"
7 - cg_centertime is now uncheatprotected
10 - Fixed in recent release

I've also added a few more.

Bugs & realistic additions (in no particular order)
1.) Advanced Client Autoexec Client side .config type scripts
2.) say_buddyNL Say to fireteam without location. Also consider vsay_teamNL and vsay_buddyNL.
3.) Getting info on Server Cvars pb_cvarval style (pb_cvarval doesnt always work, despite PB being enabled. Sometimes it appears PB is busy or something, and it wont work.)
4.) Demo sub folders Easier demo organisation.
5.) /spec999 team command for dealing with 999s.
6.) b_hudfiles (got this idea from another free Q3 based game: Tremulous's /cg_hudfiles), If we cant get a drag-n-drop hud, then can we read the hud from a .menu file, ie /b_hudfiles "huds/myhud.menu" No, it isn't noob friendly, but some obsessive people (Hi!) will make a wide selection of huds for the noobs. Then perhaps include a few of the best as extra b_althud numbers in later releases.
7.) Reload bug (see posts later in thread) Demo. Reload + weaponchange = reload sound/delay, but no new clip.
8.) Turn spread effected by mouse rate and FPS.

Others that may be worth considering:
9.) Medic revives in CLIENT console (2nd thread) Write to log and not display imo. Also, "Dyno planted by __" to client log. This was moved down after discussion from last time saying it would effect gameplay.
10.) Mapscript hashes for client autoexecs.
11.) crosshairaltsize to change the alt part of the crosshair seperately.
12.) Coaches (2 ,3)
Special invited specs with team chat, team vsays, ability to see mines, ability to see their team on minmap, possibly a fireteam hud, etc..

These are the ones I doubt will be done, but I'll put them here anyway (same as before)
13.) Lithium Asking for this one is a long shot, but it'd certainly make ET a very special game. More info on Lithium
14.) b_medicMaxHealth 1.5 times as much HP is lies! I realy doubt this one would be implimented, but I'll list it. (NB: just because the setting exists, it doesnt mean that leagues will use it)

Edit: added coaches

I know this is a pro mod.
But as many pub server run pro some suggestions for checking server rules.
Many servers have rules like "no spawnkilling allowed" or "no infight selfkilling allowed".
But it's not possible to check if every player follow these rules.

Pub has a nice feature if someone kills himself while in fight:
"scared to death" (not sure if Pro has a similar/this feature).
Alternatively show a warning the first time and next time kick.

There's an anti spawnkill mod called ETSK.
May be it's possible to at this mod (source code is free available).
Alternatively if there's a kill within spawn (could be a radius around the team_WOLF_objective entity) first time warning second time kick.

bani has said he has a better idea for the /kill thing... though i don't think he ever did it....

as for the spawn kill thing, i never understood how someone could complain about being spawn killed while they have the 3 seconds of invoulnerability, also the fact that usually just thinking can get you out of the problem

/killing is an important part of the game imo.

The only thing that might be done there is if a person /kills within 1 second of taking damage from someone, that person should get XP for the kill, or something along those lines.

And the weapon prices could change from spawn to spawn depending on how much time a weapon has been used for in that round

I'm surprised no one has commented on the b_hudfiles idea.

I like the idea, but its too late IMO for such a huge project, since ET is not that popular anymore
