I like the idea of engies with k43/garand's being able to have a bayonet. Maybe give it to another class too..

give then medic the option to use a sten?
suicide bomber.. engie gives dyno to cov ops. cov ops ties it to a satchel, cov ops runs (can be in disguise too) hits +factivate... and b00m.

That might work if the eng can plant and arm a dynamite on a covert op, then he has 30 seconds to get in the right place to do the damage. could lead to some devestating spawn camping. Probably more trouble that it's worth, a grenade is good enough to take out a couple anyway. In any case the game already has the ultimate suicide bomber in the form of the panzer
The bayonet could work as a replacement for weaponbank 1 with the knife attached on the end, but graphically it might be a bit of a mess with the grenade launcher already hanging off the end of the rifles.
The shovel could be fun if it has strong shove properties as well as a bit of damage when used.
