he wants to FORCE anybody joining his server to HAVE to download his watermark , personally just because of that, I would never join his server, I don't like watermarks and have alpha set to 0 so I wouldn't see it, but I'm concerned to why he wants to bar ppl who don't want his watermark, you can hide funny things in pk3's and forcing ppl to download something as insignificent as a watermark sounds bad to me

Now, about the .tga files...it really isn't that difficult. the trick is, you start up photoshop, and you click file -> new. you can now set the size of youre image, but you will have to set the checkbox on the bottom of the screen to transparant as well. now you can create youre watermark and save it directly into a .tga file.

I hoped i helped you with this, perhaps now you could help me.

here is what I did:

-Created the watermark
-Put it in a folder called "cr"
-Put that folder into a folder called "watermark"
-Put that folder into a .zip folder and called the .zip folder "watermark"

here's my problem

now, i have changed the name from .zip to .pk3 but it still is a .zip file wich only got the name watermark.pk3 (so he just adds .pk3 to the name)
how can i do this right? its the same with te .shader file

And im just checking, but in my etmain folder there's a file called server.cfg, now i told the PC to open it with notepad...and everything was allright, I could read the codes and all. but if I set up my server now, will it still be able to read it?

BTW, you probably have to know its not my server, the server is running at a friend of mine.

But the server gives me the following error message when I go on to the server

"image not power of 2 scaled"

WTF ?

my watermark is 124 x 124?

Maybe my english is poor.
Maybe I messed up.
But ... PLEASE !!

It needs to be a power of 2. I suggest 128x128

i've made like 10 watermarks.. never fails using my developed formula...

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON PAGE ONE VERY CAREFULLY, I DID THIS MY FIRST TIME... My only failure was using photoshop and getting the alpha problem... never looked into it.. i just finished up my watermark in gimp...

i use GIMP windows or linux version to create my tga watermark.. Constantly running into the alpha channel problem.. i decided that photoshop just wasn't doing it for me...

i use 7-zip to create all the archives easily in windows, if i'm in linux then whatever is available. handy interface and makes nice clean archives... (shell extensions are cool too)

I never did much converting of anything... but i know irfanview can do it... a simple picture viewer and basic editting stuff...

anyways just follow the damn instructions on page 1... but more than just following them.. UNDERSTAND them.... here's the last watermark i ever made.. Anyone is free to use it, but if you do please remove the 'Market Garden' Text looks the best when you actually view it in the game... The watermark is simply just a hand drawn luger (by me :D) in the middle of an oversized muzzle flash..

If you read page 1, and work on it! it will come!

Well, this post - and another - inspired me to try it. So, I have. I'm just waiting for my server to come back to see the results. My company has it down for too long. Silly thing. Don't ask, long story.
