I was watching a replay on this server (222.122.15.169:27960) which is running "ETTV 1.0 linux-i386 Oct 17 2005" and saw a strange thing happen (demo).
IIRC, I did "/follow 0" which was Ferus on axis, then "/follow 13" which was Butchji on allies. At some point, the POV changed to what you see in the demo and I began recording.
The most obvious problem is the mixed first/third person view.
The messages are also messed up. It says "Following Ferus" but it's clearly an allied player. Then it says "You (Ferus) killed Elc" which was a grenade kill, but of course the POV doesn't show that. The player shown is actually Butchji, as you see when he chases down and kills Kris, although there's no "You killed Kris" message.
The hitsounds also seem to be Ferus's, not Butchji's.
It's like ETTV was trying to show me both players. This is all the information I can give, I'm afraid.

Known bug with most versions of ETTV, up to b12 "pre8" or so.
It has been fixed, to my knowledge. But demos recorded with older versions may still exhibit the problem.
