and this guy was dling temple final while on server was railgun...after some time he disconnected...

any idea how can I fix these probs ?

some of the log from the console:
log wrote:

any idea would be great...i was searching for resolve but cant find any with some point...

the other question is: if i put campaigns in b_campaing it will avoid or maybe decrease the problem?

i would like to create campaings with defined next maps so the command nextmap will work...

btw server is running with: 2.60b, newest etpro, etadmin...

thanks in advance, i really care of this server and players and want to create a g8 community

p.s we were working for these cfgs very hard so please keep this in mind and dnt use on your server..., ive trusted You...

The first thing to do is to remove the campaign .pk3 files from your own client and try connecting.

b_campaignfile prevents people from being forced to download other files that have campaigns in them. You can put more than one campaign in a single file. See this
http://bani.anime.net/banimod/forums/vi ... hp?p=24819 and this
http://rtcw.jolt.co.uk/content/enemy_te ... aigns.html

Also, you should really set up www downloads. Ingame downloads are useless for anything bigger than campaign files.

ok, thanks for the reply and 4 your good advices:)

the reason that ppl were connecting / disconnecting with no reason was that they havent got yet et in 2.60b version

If you put something about 2.60b in your motd, that may help some of them.

Use a http server for file downloads instead of having them download from the et server.
Got any old idtech3 tutorials you made or saved? Send them my way.

dling temple final while on server was railgun
The thing with temple is that the mapper was stupid enough to include a .campaign file in this mapfile. This means every player is forced to dl that map even when its not being played or on any campaign at all.

We did try the etprocampaign stuff but since it didn't really work well we just deleted temple_final from the server.

If you tell us how it "didn't really work well" maybe we can fix it, or tell you what you did wrong.

Add an empty temple.campaign in a custom PK3 (the one which contains your own .campaign file) and it works perfectly. You don't need to delete the map out of ignorance then ;).

Just check out my public PK3. It loads our own campaign, disables the built-in campaigns (North Africa, Central Europe) and the built-in Temple campaign. You can do that trick for any mapper who includes a .campaign file in his PK3. Credit goes to Ragnar_40k for making me aware of the trick.

I have explained this on the ETPub website as well.

@Mc Nite yep, but it works with b_campaignfile

@deej will try in future, thx for the tip

btw where should be mapdefault.cfg and other such mapdefault_radar.cfg?
I got these settings in xxx.config, but i tought it would be faster&better if etpro will load these settings from files. Theres no such info even on "Admin Guide"

thx for any help

Dunno. Both are fine I think. I put mine in the .config file.

IIRC etpro looks in the etpro dir for mapdefault.cfg and in the configs dir for the .config files.
