commanding officer request
this was posted on swat's forums by ]*[:
Ok, here's some stuff, hopefully on topic that happened to me yesterday.
I was an allied co on beach. I run out of the forward bunker, and then here's what happened:
noob:'I need ammo'
noob:'I need ammo'
noob:'I need ammo'
]*[:'I'm a Commanding Officer'
noob:'I need ammo'
]*[:'I'm a Commanding Officer'
noob:'I need ammo'
(noob shoots me three times in the legs with pistol)
]*[:'I'm a Commanding Officer'

noob:'I need ammo'
noob:'I need ammo'
We climb the outer ladder on the axis base. At the top we are met by an axis medic. I get mowed down before I get a shot off, and the noob comes up from behind, needle drawn, gets toasted after missing the revive about three times, which of course he tried to without crouching.
to be honest i dont think its noob's fault in the least. if he has never played on a banimod server before it wouldnt even cross his mind that you are not a lut. keep in mind that there are about 25 banimod servers out of thousands.
i have found myself asking for ammo from CO's before... and im not always paying attention to text messages. can you change the skin of the CO to something other then a lut? or can you just remove the helmet since it doesnt do anything to help a player anyway?

if you point your crosshairs on your teammate doesn't it tell you what they are? and co's are listed as soldiers aren't they? half of the time I never can tell what a person is by their uniform unless they are super close and facing me. And i have never had a problem confusing a co with a lt even with the uniforms the way they are. I dno't know maybe it is the noobs fault, but maybe not.

my first q is what rez are you running? i look at someone and i can tell their class without thinking 2x.
the point im trying to get across is that why would someone who has never played banimod even start to think that this person is not a lut??? you see the bar on their helmit, that = a lut. even if you are playing with seasoned banimod players ppl can still mistake them for luts.

in the situation you quoted the guy was getting shot from behind, so you wouldn't see the bar on his helmet right? in fact the only thing you would see is the s in front of his name standing for soldier. The only time you see a difference in clothing is when their facing you right? I am not too observant...really...so I could be entirely wrong about the uniforms...lord knows my wife thinks I never notice any change in clothing. But just from memory I thought the only time you see a difference is when they are face to face with you. So if I am following a guy all I have to go on is the name and classification you get when you point crosshairs. Also doesn't the name up in the right corner have the clssification right by it. Honestly I have no idea what my resolution is....maybe I will have to check it out.
