A different bug I found with the MG42 is that, when I re-spawned, I was stuck in shooting mode with the MG42. I couldn't press enter to let go, since it wasn't there. I was either killed by a grenade or by an air strike (don't remember sorry) prior to being spawned with the fantom MG42. All I could do was "/kill" out. It only happened once, but I didn't try to re-create.

what do you mean by "shooting" mode, cause i've been killed while i was using my binocs and when i re-spawned, i was automatically stuck in that zoom until i changed weapons.... that might just be an overall bug with the game Confused

Okay it happened again. I was shooting away with the MG42 then I was killed by a nade. When I respawned, it was as if I still had an MG42. I could even shoot with the MG42, even though it wasn't there on the screen. I couldn't let go of the MG42. I was completly stuck, so I had to do a "/kill". I don't know if it matters, but I was kill by a nade.

It has happened to me a couple of times and always on the map....damn can't remember the name...the one with the spiral staircase and the 2 gates at the top you have to blow. Embarassed Embarassed Any way both times it went away when I scrolled to the next weapon, then when scrolling back my smg appeared. I can't remember if it was a nade that killed me though.

I'll try to post every detail of a very weird bug I experienced with an MG42:

It was flooded town, and I was on the axis side. The allies had blown all the gates, so we were trying to defend the generator room. I was on top of some boxes, using an MG42, and Der Kammisar was doing the same thing, only a bit over from me. After a while, I realized I needed to move over a bit, so I could see down the left hall. So, I let go of the MG42, shot it a few times to break it, and placed a new one about 3 feet over. When I went to grab it, I got warped on top of Der Shocked. I couldn't move, but I could still shoot my mp40. After moving around a bunch, I ended up behind him (sorry Der Razz), but I was still stuck. Weird thing is, nobody seemed to see what happened. There were two other people in the room, but they still saw me at the old mg42. I just had to eventually /kill myself.

Is the private message feature enabled on the server? You would have to ask an admin, as you cannot type in g_privateMessages in the console to find out...
