I have a big problem: (my english is bad, sorry)

I want to run a banimod server with banisoundpack.pk3 and I want that the people (clients) are receiving automatically this file and then they can use VSAY FF, VSAY SHAZBOT etc...

Every time, when I set up my server, I can use VSAY WAH (and I can hear it!:)) but nothing different one. When I type VSAY FF, then I can read the text, that I'm saying but I can't hear it.

I want to organize an RTCW (v1.41, banimod) lanparty with new sounds (banisoundpack) on the clients. The server must deploy the new sounds on connect and when the client use VSAY SHAZBOT or something, everybody must hear it!


I'm playing sometimes on banimod enabled servers, where I can use all of the sounds from banisoundpack but I can't set up my own server to use it. :(

I downloaded the correct banimod version for v1.41, I created a bani folder in my game folder with the qagame_mp_x86.dll and qagame.mp.i386.so. I start the game with "wolfMP.exe +set fs_game bani +set dedicated 1 +exec server.cfg".

Maybe I have to configure wolfconfig_mp.cfg?

Please help me!

if you want server to force client to download, put banisoundpack.pk3 in /wolfenstein/bani/ and then +set sv_allowdownload 1

my problem is not solved yet..

for example:
When I use VSAY IMPRESSIVE, I can't hear it.:( How can I configure my server, that when client is connecting, it receives the PK3 file with "a-impressive.wav" file and when he type VSAY IMPRESSIVE, then all connected clients will hear the IMPRESSIVE sound.

I know, I can take a PK3 file (for example mk-airport.pk3), unzip it, and then zip it with all WAV files. When the client is connecting, it will receive my prepared PK3, BUT the client can't use VSAY IMPRESSIVE, because the players will hear nothing! I can use PLAY PATH/IMPRESSIVE.WAV but it is too few..

I think, I need some scripts to solve my problem and I can see on the server at the start, that it executes "mk_airport.script". Can I maybe edit this script file to bind A-IMPRESSIVE to VSAY IMPRESSIVE?

When you make a mod, how do you bind the VSAY messages to a WAV file?

Don't unzip banisoundpack.pk3. Put it in Main, so the path is main/banisoundpack.pk3.

if you are a (banimod)server admin, please tell me, how I can configure my server to use all new sounds from BANISOUNDPACK.PK3
when I just copy the soundpack file into the /main folder, it is not enough!

It will work if you copy banisoundpack.pk3 (NOT THE UNCOMPRESSED FILES) to main. If you expand the files, it will not work. If you do it correctly, it will work.

him and i are co-admins of the zer0 server... and my freaking god you never unzip it pk3 is the compression utility that the q3 engine uses you don't change the file name or unzip it or q3 engine doesn't know what to do with it
and also if you want try putting a copy in main and a copy in bani folder just to make sure you got it, however we use ours in main

I opened "qagame_mp_x86.dll" and searched for "dumpkof", "WAH" etc and I founded all the VSAYs, that I can use but nothing about SHAZBOT, IMPRESSIV etc...

I think, this is the problem!! I need the bani mod dlls, where I can find all definitions or "links" for the extra sounds.

At the moment, I have RTCW 1.41 with BANIMOD 1.1.48.

my serverstart.bat:
wolfMP.exe +set fs_game bani +set dedicated 1 +exec test.cfg

test.cfg in rtcwGameFolder/main:
seta vm_game "0"
PB_SV_DISABLE
seta sv_pure "1"
seta sv_allowdownload "1"
seta g_voiceChatsAllowed "99"
seta g_gametype "5"
map mp_base

YOU NEED BANISOUNDPACK.PK3. PUT THAT FILE IN MAIN.

you may want to try installing BaniMod 1.1.64 and try it. 1.1.48 is too outdated (my opinion).
Success is only gained through failure.

Thank you sneaky1, the problem was solved. I had version 1.1.48 (downloaded from banis website, hmm....) and now, I have 1.1.64.

I founded the v1.1.64 on http://bani.anime.net/banimod/rc7/1.41/.

Bani: Do you want to update your download site? The download link is outdated.

The download of a .PK3 file from rtcw/bani/*.PK3 is also working. The problem was, that the client did not have download enabled.. sorry, it was my mistake.
