long loading times

it takes most of the time 5 minutes to load an et map. how can i cut time down and how long does it take u guys

how do u decrease loading time? ive closed all programs that arent needed how do i lower loading time? what has to do with loading time? ram or net speed?

what hardware do you have?

aopen ak79g max
athlon xp 2500+
512 mb 2100 ddr ram
wd 120 gb 7200 rpm hd
onboard geforce4 mx

all of those can contribute to loading time.

PS: i counted load time 1st time it was 1 min 20 secs next time was a little longer. how bad is this

Hah, you don't know your hardware specs? Well, since you most likely have windows, right-click on my computer and go to properties. Then depending on your OS, you may have the hardware manager right there, or you'll have to go to the third tab and click hardware manager. If you did not understand what I just said, you should just go and spend $2000 on a new computer.

After reinstallation of XP, my load times seem to be rather quick.

seriously what are you running windows 95? i know xp wont run on 128 and 98 barely moves. i bet you have a rocking good vid card on that bad boy. like an ati rage 3d or something. btw that is rt mouse click my computer > properties > hardware/ device manager then hit the little "+" on the video card. or you could always ask your buddy shrub the next time you go to hizzouse to suck him off.
