Mine Spotting Bug

Post by Lagger »

a spotted mine can be blown by anyone.

if i throw an airstrike on a my teams mines, it will be cleared if they have been spotted by the enemy.

thus, you can test whether your enemy has spotted the mines or not, by throwing a grenade on it.

yeah but it really sucks, when you know it's being used against you.

we played a match on oasis, where we capture the old city, we spot 6 mines in the old city, and are very careful not to blow them up. they notice that we are spotting mines, and throw airstrikes to blow them up.

so much for being clever and spotting the mines. :crying:

i personally never leave a mine alone (mine or not) if it's been there for a while... obviously it's been spotted or it's just in a bad spot

what if mines were blowable, regardless of them being spotted?

in addition to improving realism, that would make it more challenging for engineers placing the mines, and make defending field-ops more careful when using spam.

would that be a better solution?

gah, noooo! no one has problems with how mines are blown up. the only people that DO.. are the people who complain there are TOO many mines available to use. if you can blow them up, then you can blow them up. but lets not make it so you can blow it up without seeing them.

wait, maybe we can.. and we can also make it so if you have a riflenader you can attach the dyno onto the k43/garand and shoot it into the objective room. ;) j/k... but i really dont see a problem with how landmines are blown up.

but as it is atm, there are situations where spotting a mine is bad for your team. eg. oasis or fueldump, where the action moves from one part of the map, to another.

this changes how mines work, which i doubt the leagues will appreciate.
