source code?

Post by necro »

is there any particular reason why you didn't make the source code for bani freely available?

"copy his work" ? ever heard of Open Source, GPL/BSD/LGPL etc?
he did.
he uses Linux to run bani.anime.net on, too! you know how many hours people put in Linux since it's inception in the very early 90's? thousands more manhours than your whole life consisted of.

to be short... "why".. to be open, and for people to have the ability to improve it, modify it, etc.

yes, but he didn't want it to be open source... it's his right to or not to. He chose not to rather than to...

yep. however, if you'd actually READ my first post it asks if there is any _specific_ reason why he chose not to make the code available.

get it?

no?

too bad.

because he doesn't want to... others have asked for it... that is the answer, you can keep going about why YOU think he should, but it's his decision if he wants to or not... why do you care so much? modding isn't that complex, make your own then opensource it

dont you have to use C++ or similar to even view the src code correctly to make such changes?

the source is a text file, if you know c++ you can open it in notepad or the like and edit it but you need the compiler to make it

our =FF=client side mod is made off the .menu files but is not compiled its just the open files and they work aslong as the path are correct
