crash then brightness

Post by Radeon9.8kpunk »

Ive notice my ET has been crashing alot latley and several of my firends are crashing too. When mine crashes it messes up my brightness outside to game, and the only way to get normal brigntness back is to restart

is there a reason for all of the resent crashing a brightness mess ups???

if you alter the gamma settings (i believe, one of the brightness settings anyway), and exit the game impropperly (crash), your display adapter keeps the settings...

I think quickgamma sits in the systray—if you prefer the one-shot approach, I hacked up fix-gamma (source) for a friend a while ago.
For posterity (i.e. all 3 people who use the 'search' feature), in Linux you can just run 'xgamma -gamma 1'.
