queing system for servers..:?

Post by frEnzy »

i visit a few popular servers and after sitting for a long time with the "awaiting challenge" screen, i am curious to the way ET servers handle the queue of people trying to connect. Is it based on say connection speed? where the person with the faster connection will link up and take the slot quicker than the other people.. or say based on the time people have been waiting? e.g someone with awaiting challenge 200 will take the slot over a person with awaiting challenge 50

kthanks 8)

There is no queue. The clients simply try over and over. So ping doesn't have a huge effect. You used to be able to speed this up with timescale, I'm not sure if that still works in et or not.

are you and =ff=im2weak4u related, steven?
Our servers now run on 64 bit steroids. Point your ET to:
- Forgotten Ground StopWatch Server with occasional wolfrof 1
- Fraggle Rock ETPub Server - Mix up ET/UT & Duke Nukem

Won't this lag the server for the ones playing?
Sounds like a really bad feature.
