TeamSpeak Overlay

Post by Caragen »

I know currently TSO is not able to work with ET Pro.. but i would like to see it work.. iv used it in many games and its a great tool to see who join's leaves, and is talking on your TS server. just an idea. but i would like to see it in ET Pro.

again this is just a suggestion.

it works the same way as a wallhack, letting it work would open a door

tso should use the q3 console to send messages to the client, it shouldnt draw on the hud. if we were to allow tso to draw on the hud it would allow wallhacks to work too.

Integrate the speak buttons/lamps into the fireteam. maybe teamspeak.org is cooperative in the bit of code that is needed for this ...

I suggest also implementing mute then because sometimes things can go horribly wrong on TS with echo's & stuff.
Our servers now run on 64 bit steroids. Point your ET to:
- Forgotten Ground StopWatch Server with occasional wolfrof 1
- Fraggle Rock ETPub Server - Mix up ET/UT & Duke Nukem

just fwiw, if you bind the push-to-talk to a teamsay or whatever to announce you're speaking, make sure you use a +vstr as spamming it really eats your upload or something - i could totally lag myself out on an empty rtcw server just by holding the key (64k isdn, so it was eating up 7kb/s and was wanting more), probably did the server cpu no favours either. this was also the reason i disagreed with having flood protection disabled in the rtcw osp "comp" settings, you could spam the shit out of teamchat and warp away with the objective.

K: here's my idea:

include a ts-light-client (listen only) into etpro for each team.

then the leader of the fireteam can do
/ft_ts_connect ip:port [channel] <pass>
and each player has a ts_name cvar where his name he uses in ts is stored. so etpro should be able to connect to this ts server and get the information it needs.
alternatively etpro can determine by ip who's name belongs to whom in ts cause afaik ts gives ip of users
